Chapter Four: Tutoring Titan: Physics by Open High Hat

Naskia picked up Niall and placed him on her flat, bare stomach just up from her belly button. He just lay there and didn’t say anything. Niall was busy trying to get his breath back. He could hear Naskia’s heart pounding through her body. “Bloody hell” he muttered under his breath still panting. They lay there in silence for a few minutes.

Niall wanted to fall asleep but was brought round by Naskia “How are you doing down there?” she cooed.

“Oh I’m just fine, wouldn’t mind getting a shower or something though.” Niall said still panting.

“Hmmm, I could lick you clean.” Naskia sat up and smiled down at him hopefully. Niall could just about see Naskia’s face over her ample chest.

“I don’t know if I’m that comfortable with that.” Niall did like the sound of it but thought it might be a bit humiliating.

“Don’t worry, I promise not to eat you.” Naskia smiled thinking she was putting Niall at ease when in fact he hadn’t considered being eaten.

“I may be small but there’s no way I’m small enough to be swallowed whole” Niall said confident he was right.

“Oh no….I could swallow you whole, just about. There’s a good few reports of people accidentally swallowing humans. It’s easy enough to get them back up again though.” Naskia said more interested in being right than reassuring Niall.

“Well now I definitely don’t want to be that close to your mouth” he said a bit alarmed at her frankness “A shower will do just fine.”

Naskia sensed that Niall was done with this fantasy of hers a decided not to push it. “Ok….I’ll see what I can do.” She picked Niall up again and set him down on the sofa. She thought he must be used to getting handled as he hadn’t told her off for picking him up the last few times. Naskia went to the kitchen sink and ran the tap to a reasonable temperature and then used a small colander to create a shower effect. She walked back over to Niall and set her hand down. “Ready?” she asked.

Niall hopped on and sat down for the journey to the sink. She set him down in the sink and Niall examined the makeshift shower. “Clever” he said.

Niall stepped into the shower; it was just the right temperature. He started cleaning himself off. Naskia had knelt down in front of the sink and had put her chin on her hands and was watching Niall.

“Do you mind?” he said.

“Oh….sorry… just checking everything is ok.” Naskia said covering for her blatant staring. “Oh! I have an idea. Stay there….” She said and ran in to another room.

A few seconds later she ran back out again. Niall expected there to be more vibration from the massive girl but she seemed pretty light on her feet. Naskia knelt back down where she had been, though now she had something in her hand. “Step out here for a second.” She said to him. Niall was mildly annoyed not to be able to shower in peace. He liked to use his shower time for self-reflection and since he’d just made a 120 foot woman orgasm he really wanted to bask in his triumph.

Niall stepped out from under the stream of water and Naskia promptly squirted some pink goo down on top of him. He ended up with a large blob on his head and 2 blobs running down from his shoulders. “Woops….sorry. I might have used too much” she giggled. Naskia used a nail to push most of the excess goo from the top of Niall’s head so it didn’t get in his eyes. “Don’t worry. This is just my sanitizing wash. Scrub it into your head and skin and then wash it off.”

“Yeah I figured that’s what it was thank you. Would you mind leaving me alone for a bit? I like to enjoy my showers in peace.” Niall stated with a tone that conveyed his annoyance.

“Oh….ok” Naskia said a bit taken a back “Well sure I’ll check on you in a few minutes.” Naskia got up and went back over to the sofa. She flipped the cushion to make sure there was no sign of what happened earlier, sat down and tried to concentrate on her programme. Naskia couldn’t focus, her mind was racing and she had butterflies in her stomach. She’d thought maybe Niall had come round and was ready to start being nice but that was clearly not the case. She didn’t want to force anything on him but he was going to have to get used to things being on her terms rather than his own, even if she decided to treat him as an equal. She decided to give him a few more days before she started to be a bit firmer. Kiri should be back later today and she guessed she wouldn’t give him much slack at all. “We’ll see how much help he can give me with these equations….” She thought.

Niall was feeling pretty pleased with himself. He had cleaned himself with the gel Naskia gave him. Its smell reminded him or her smell, soft, sweet raspberry. He felt like he’d successfully gained her trust and by the end of the day should hopefully have gained her respect. He was also pretty pleased with the physical achievement. He’d always been pleased with his performance with women but “conquering” Naskia was a completely different league. He’d definitely bedded hotter women he thought but Naskia’s size was inflating his ego a bit. He stood enjoying the heat and feel of the water for 10 minutes or so until Naskia came back to check on him.

“Ready to get out?” she asked.

“Yeah I am thanks. That was great.” Niall replied.

Naskia turned off the water and lifted him under the arms and placed him into her palm which was close to her chest. She had placed her palm under her robe so he could wrap himself up and not stay warm. “Kill him with kindness” she thought. Naskia sat down on the sofa so she didn’t have to worry about dropping Niall.

“Want me to dry you?” Naskia asked more for her own benefit than for Niall’s.

“No thanks, I’m actually nearly dry. I wouldn’t mind my own robe back, if it’s dry.”

Naskia gave Niall a minute to finish drying and then set him down on the sofa arm. She returned with his robe.

“Seems dry to me.” She said setting it down. Niall got dressed and was pleased to feel the robe was nice and warm. “Shall we get started on this work?” Naskia asked.

“Sure. Whatever you like” Niall said.

Naskia set her hand down and Niall stepped on. She carried him through to the bedroom. Naskia still wasn’t used to carrying a human around. She kept wanting to use her hand and had to consciously tell herself not to. Naskia felt her heart sink as she once again sat down behind her desk to a mountain of equations. She wasn’t confident that Niall would be much help to her. Even if he could do the equations could he really teach her to do them as well?

“Ok, can you lay out some of your working out for some you’re having difficulty with and start work on a new one? I’ll look over your work and see if I can find where you’re going wrong.” Niall said taking charge instantly.

Naskia sighed and set Niall down. She arranged the working out she’d done which took up a lot more space than she liked. Niall was pacing backwards and forwards making occasional notes on her working out. She started on an equation but she soon descended into frustration.

“Argh!” she said getting annoyed.

“Calm down” Niall told her “Getting frustrated will only make it worse. Just keep doing what you can while I go over this.”

Naskia felt the urge to slap Niall run through her arm. She had 3 older brothers and as an excitable little girl had regularly been told to calm down and it always made her mad.

“Breathe. If you slap him, you’ll kill him” she thought to herself.

The pair worked in silence for another half an hour or so until Naskia got fed up and buried her head in her arms on the desk. “Eugh, I can’t do it anymore.” She said “I will give you everything you want as long as you agree to sit it my pocket and do equations for me.”

Niall laughed “No thanks, I’ve much better things to do. Besides I think I see where you’re going wrong.” Naskia sat up and her eyes lit up. “Oh! What is it?!”

“Just who taught you how to do maths?” Niall asked.

“Teachers mostly, got some help from my father too.” She replied wondering where this was going.

“You keep attempting to do it all in one go, which will never work. You need do it piece by piece and gradually whittle it down. Watch…” Niall picked up the graphite stick and simplified a layer out of an equation. He noticed the Titans had no equivalent symbol for brackets. He used brackets to show how to isolate individual parts of the equation. “Now if you do each part bit by bit it’s easier. I can’t believe you got this far without breaking it down!”

Naskia frowned a bit “We never got taught how to work it out like that. We were taught to work end to end to get the answer, it doesn’t matter how complex it is, I should be able to do it. I’m not sure if my teachers will approve.”

“Well I say do whatever works for you. I’m sure they won’t approve of you failing. As a physicist you need to do things naturally. In this case we follow the path of least resistance rather a set way of doing things which is obstructing you. Give it a go.” Niall said. Naskia gave him a small smile. Comparing the method of working to a basic law of the universe made sense to her. Niall was pacing backwards and forwards slowly with his hands behind his back. He really was enjoying himself, telling people where they were going wrong was one of his favourite things to do.

“Ok, I’ll try but you need to drop the smug attitude. It keeps giving me urges to squash you flat” she said half joking. Niall accepted it as a joke but decided it was be better to be encouraging rather than condescending.

“C’mon I know you’re smart enough to do this.”

Naskia tried it Niall’s way on the new equation. Niall observed as she broke down each individual part and offered advice and encouragement where he felt appropriate. It took Naskia over an hour to complete which Niall thought was a bit long but he decided to keep that to himself. “Is…is it right?” Naskia asked tentatively.

Niall paced up and down the paper to give the impression he was working it out when he already knew it was. “Yeah it looks good. Nice job.” Niall said.

Naskia squealed in a pitch Niall didn’t think was possible and clapped her hands excitedly. “Awww thank you!” Naskia grabbed Niall with both hands, brought him to her face and gave him a kiss which engulfed most of his head and then held him to her upper chest as she sang “Yay, yay, yay ,yay” over and over. Niall decided not to complain as much as he felt humiliated; he didn’t want to spoil her win. It actually felt good being able to help someone overcome something that was causing so much upset.

Naskia set Niall down on the desk. She was grinning from ear to ear and her light blue eyes were shining brightly. “You’re very welcome. Time for another?” He asked trying to display some sort of modesty for a change.

“Awww. Can I not enjoy this a bit longer?” Naskia asked the smile fading from her face.

“You’ll feel a greater sense of achievement once you do more and you’re confident. You can’t just do one and then stop.”

“Ergh fine! I’ll do more. But you’re staying and doing them with me.” Naskia said.

“Not like I’ve anywhere else to be.” Niall replied.

Niall and Naskia spent the next few hours working on a variety of different equations. Naskia’s speed improved slightly but she was still considerably slower than Niall. While the pair worked they talked to each other and Niall felt more like a fellow student in a study group than a lesser being. The two discussed their lives and what had brought them to this point.

Naskia grew up in the shadow of her father who is a famous physicist and thinker. Her 3 older brothers all excelled in their fields. One a lawyer, one a Captain of an Imperial warship and one a historian which only added further pressure on her to succeed. She was not very close to her mother who left her career to raise a family. Niall could see why Naskia acted the way she did. A combination of strong men in her life and being coddled by her parents had made her doubt herself despite being very intelligent. She reverted to cuteness to lower people’s expectations but at the same time was frustrated that some people did not take her seriously. Her mother had counselled her not to pursue a scientific career and to start a family but being a daddy’s girl and fascinated by physics she could not resist. In this male dominated science her classmates tended to view her as girly, cute and out of her depth. Niall knew he had treated more than one female physics student like this.

Niall on the other hand had the opposite upbringing. Raised by a single mother as an only child he had seen the tail end of the troubles in Northern Ireland. He was doted on by his mother who always told him he was special. He was admitted to Mensa aged 3 and was taken out of standard education aged 5. He was obsessed with energy growing up and was always trying to find ways to generate power in the home to help his poor mother save money. At 9 he built a micro-nuclear fission reactor (this got a laugh from Naskia) from an old TV and some smoke alarms. At this point Mensa stepped in to stop him from becoming a danger to himself and others. His studies were directed down the energy generation route. Niall stayed in universities doing research until he was 24. He didn’t start socialising properly with people his own age until 17 and as a result he had found it difficult to connect with people and often comes across as arrogant, rude and abrasive.

Naskia sat back in her chair quietly satisfied. Niall had helped her to work through the problems she’d been having with her studies, albeit using non-traditional means. The connection she had felt with him when she first saw him on Titan Station felt stronger now they had shared their stories with each other. Both felt slightly sorry for the other. Naskia felt Niall had missed out on a childhood with a family around him and Niall thought Naskia was so delicate because her male dominated family treated her like a flower and didn’t encourage her. Niall was quietly contemplating how he should proceed to gain more favour from Naskia when his train of thought was interrupted by a loud rumbling noise. Naskia turned bright red as they both realised it was her stomach complaining about being empty.

“Oh!” she gasped “Sorry! I don’t usually do that. Shall we get something to eat?”

Niall smiled trying to break the tension that still seemed to be in the air after their talk “Yeah sure. I didn’t want to bother you but I’ve been pretty hungry for a while now.”

“You should have told me! I totally forgot your metabolism is a lot faster than mine…I feel bad now. C’mon let’s go through to the kitchen.”

Naskia lowered her hand and Niall climbed on. “When do you think you’ll need to sleep?” she asked.

“I’m not sure. We’ve been awake for 12 hours so probably in another 8 hours. I can stay awake for days on end sometimes if I’m working on something.” Niall replied.

Naskia set him down on the counter and started rooting around for food and utensils. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. Just sleep when you’re tired. If I need you awake it’s not like I can’t get you up.” Naskia was chopping up some vegetables and bits of meat. Niall noted the pile of food would probably weigh more than ten times his own weight. There were no predators on Earth that could naturally swallow a human whole; he found watching Naskia cut meat into chunks roughly his size quite disturbing. Naskia then started frying up the mix and added what smelled like a nice selection of spices.

“Are you a good cook?” Niall asked.

Naskia smiled and tried to look modest but it wasn’t working. “Yeah I’m pretty good. My mother taught me and she’s the best cook I know.”

After Naskia was done preparing the meal she served it up on a plate. It resembled a beef stir-fry and it smelled great. She carried it and Niall over to the table and set them both down.

“Hmmm, I’ve no plate or forks for you, kinda thought you’d be eating the food I got you. Are you ok to work around the edges? I’ll cut up anything you need.”

Niall didn’t like the idea of getting near the fork with prongs near his own height but the food smelled great “Yeah I can do that, just keep that fork away from me.” Niall grabbed an 8 foot long noodle and dragged it to the end of the plate. Naskia giggled as Niall fell on his ass when the noodle snapped. He took a bite from the end. It was incredibly pungent and spicy but in a good way. Niall wondered if all Titan food was this flavoursome or if Naskia was just a damn good cook.

“Wow, this is really tasty” he said emphasizing the really. He got up and stepped back on to the plate and peeled a strip of meat off a pig sized chunk. It easily came away and was soft and tender. “She’s definitely a great cook” he thought to himself.

After lunch Naskia went back to her studies. She had a big backlog of work to catch up on before classes started up again the day after next. Niall was given his new pad to study. He decided to let Naskia explain the Titan alphabet and symbols to him to help with translation. Naskia still couldn’t believe he managed to translate their mathematical symbols in a night. Niall browsed the local University sites slowly learning to read Titan. His priority was to learn more about Titan culture and society. He knew if his long term goal was to be recognised as a citizen of the Empire it would start with Naskia but end with society at large.
