Titan, Chapter Four

Rixie slid her security badge through the receiver and entered into her personal quarters with a sigh of relief. She’d been on an extended training mission for two days now and still had not had a chance to release her human from his cylindrical prison. She’d been tempted to do so at the end of that first day, but had been so exhausted by the whole ordeal that she’d gone straight to bed, stowing the device in a drawer of her desk. The next day her orders came through for surprise training exercises on the fourth planet of the system. But now, she had nothing standing in her way.

So eager was she to meet the little man in her possession, she didn’t even bother to change out of her duty uniform before deactivating the cryogenic unit. Of course, then she remembered that it would take some time for her new pet to safely “thaw out” and went to change her clothes after all.

After a length of time she heard a tiny groan from the bedside table where she’d left the pod. She rushed over and, before its tiny occupant had fully regained his senses, she placed it on the ground between her feet. She wanted to make sure she gave the little creature the right first impression.

He groaned again and sat up, rubbing the back of his head. Apparently he wasn’t at full capacity because he rolled out of the unit and stumbled towards Rixie’s right boot without any apparent surprise. It wasn’t until he ran into the toe of that boot that he seemed to register that all was not as it should be.

Rixie watched as the hapless little creature sprawled across her foot. She suppressed a giggle as she felt the tiny hands pounding experimentally on the top of her boot, obviously still trying to figure out what it was. In reply, she wiggled the toes on that foot. She found it absolutely adorable when this caused him to leap back in surprise, and fall onto his rear. Then he looked up.

Alex wasn’t sure if he was still asleep or not. The last thing he remembered was taking the shortcut home from work through the back roads… and now he was at the feet of a giant woman.
Alex took in the form in front of him. His gaze travelled up her forty foot tall, knee-high black boots; past her olive green, curve hugging cargo pants, up the flat plane of her stomach and the anything-but-flat curve of her breasts beneath a white tank top. Hesitatingly, Alex took a few steps back so he could see the face of the giantess above her mountainous breasts. The giantess had pale skin and dark brown hair that was done up in at least a hundred small braids, and her eyes were a pale green that was almost grey. The curtain of her black braids framing her face, causing it to be cast in shadow since the light was above her.

He was simultaneously relieved and frightened when he saw that she was looking straight down at him. On the one hand Alex was relieved because that meant she knew he was there, so the chances of her accidentally stepping on him were slim, on the other… Well, there was a confident smirk on her face. A look in her pale green eyes that said she was in complete control of the situation and knew it. She looked like a cat that had a mouse to play with. So yes, the odds of her accidentally stepping on him were low, but he wasn’t entirely confident she wouldn’t crush him on purpose.

The giantess moved. A long arm reached up to push one of her braids back behind her ear. That broke the spell Alex had found himself under. Without really thinking about what he was doing, he turned and ran.
Rixie chuckled as she watched the little thing scurry away from her. He must be scared to death, the poor thing. She thought. Well, might as well get this over with. She began to follow the human. She walked after him slowly, keeping pace, but letting him stay ahead. Then, after a few paces she raised her foot and slammed it down directly in his path. The human was unable to stop himself in time and collided with the side of her boot.

As far as Alex was concerned, the boot had come out of nowhere. He’d taken off running, not really thinking about it, just having an overwhelming need to get away from the giant woman as fast as possible. He could feel her eyes on him the whole time and after a few seconds of mindless running, he knew she’d begun to pursue him- if you could call it that. The tremors of her footsteps traveled up his legs, nearly throwing him to the ground every time she took a step. He’d chanced a look behind to see how close she was, and when he’d turned back around… well, he’d tasted leather. The hard way. And now he was right back where he’d started: on his ass, staring up at her in a state of mild terror and confusion.

The giantess smiled down at him, but it wasn’t exactly comforting. “Why did you run from me, little one?”

“What’s going on? Where am I? Who are you?” The giantess frowned slightly, and then stamped her foot next to him. The resulting tremor and rush of displaced air knocked Alex onto his side.

“I asked you a question, little man. You will answer it and speak nothing else until I desire you to.”

“I was scared! I don’t know what’s going on, so I ran!” Alex was now cowering before the giant woman.

She seemed to consider his words, and then nodded. “Understandable. Now I will answer your questions. You are on a military base stationed on one of the moons of the planet you call Saturn; you are here because I own you. I am a Titan. My name is Rixie, but you will address me only as Mistress.”

Rixie crouched down so she could see the tiny creature a little closer. “Now then, my little toy, what is your name?”

“A… Alex.” The human had barely been able to find his voice as he watched the building-sized form of the young woman collapse on itself. The leather of her boots creaked ominously as she lowered a hand to the floor to help herself balance. Alex could once again no longer see her face beyond her breasts.

Rixie noted that the little man failed to address her properly as Mistress, but decided to ignore it this one time. There would be plenty of time to teach him etiquette. “I like that name. Alex. You can keep it.”

“I just want to go back home!” Alex yelled “Can’t you just take me back?”

Rixie shook her head. “I’m afraid that even if I wanted to, (which I don’t, by the way,) that would be impossible.” She sat back on her haunches and a smile grew on her face. “But, I’ll make a deal with you, Alex.” She pointed towards the far wall. “Over there is the door of my quarters. Beyond that is the station proper, if you can make it there without me catching you first, I will let you free to find your own way.”

Alex didn’t think he had much chance, but it was better than no chance at all. He nodded his acceptance.

“But,” Rixie continued. “If I capture you before that happens, you will submit to me.”

“O… Okay. I guess I don’t have much choice.” Alex turned and ran. Rixie smiled, humans were very fast, especially in the gravity of an environment calibrated for Titans, which was much lower than that of Earth. However, Rixie had a much longer reach. She gave Alex a sporting head start, then rose to her feet.

Alex looked ahead to the monolithic doorframe that was his goal. So focused on his objective he almost didn’t see the boot that suddenly slammed in front of him. Without even thinking about it, he leapt clear over the toe of her boot. A small part of him, in the back of his mind, was freaking out about the stunt. It was like jumping over the hood of a car.

Rixie was pleasantly surprised by her pet’s performance. He was doing far better than she expected. It wasn’t enough to actually challenge her, of course, but it did prove to be entertaining. She dropped to her hands and knees, her body arching over the little man as he ran underneath her torso.

There was a momentary panic for Alex as a shadow suddenly fell over him, for a brief moment he was afraid the giantess had grown tired of the game and decided to end it, permanently. He was partially relieved when he saw Rixie’s arms settle in front of him, followed by her upside down face. Her breasts were hanging above him, but she had her back arched in such a way that they didn’t block her view. The Titan grinned at him and stuck her tongue out at him teasingly. However, Alex wasn’t ready to give up just yet.

He charged at Rixie’s mocking face and at the last second threw himself forward head-first in a perfect baseball slide. There was just enough room for him to duck between Rixie’s head and the floor, in fact she accidentally licked him front to back as he passed underneath. Once he cleared the twisting net of her braids, he was up and running, so close to the door he could taste it.

And then, giant fingers gilded by green nail polish fell in front of him like the bars of a cage. Before he could react, they had pinched around him, trapping him for good. Rixie pulled herself to her feet and Alex found himself sitting in her palm, gazing up at the amused grin on her face.

“Congratulations! You did well!” She admired the contrast between his tanned skin and her own, which was pale from too much time spent aboard a space outpost. A finger from her other hand began to idly stroke his back like he was… well, like he was a small animal she was trying to comfort. “However, I still won. So, you have to submit to my ownership.”

“This… this is crazy! How can you ‘own’ me? I’m not a possession!” Alex shouted up at the giant woman, forgetting that she was big enough to literally hold his life in the palm of her hand.

Rixie chuckled. “Oh? You’re not a possession? Well, let’s see about that.” She carried him over to where her desk was and opened the top drawer. She reached inside and pulled out a number of items: A stylus for a data pad, three meal tokens, and her station security badge. She held them up so Alex could clearly see them.

“You see these things? These are possessions of mine. I own them. I control what happens to them.” Then, slowly so Alex could see exactly what she was doing, she opened the hip pocket on her cargo pants and tilted her hand so the objects slid from her palm into the dark recesses of the pocket, one by one.

Next, she brought her now empty hand up and seized Alex around the waist between finger and thumb. “And I also control what happens to YOU little man.” Saying this, she brought Alex down to that pocket and dropped him inside with the other objects, and then sealed the pocket behind him.

The thick material blocked any sound Alex might be making from being heard outside the pocket, but she could feel it when he banged upon her hip. Nobody else would have any idea she was carrying a live human in her pocket. With a satisfied smile, Rixie decided to go for a walk around the station. Perhaps she’d go check on the little humans she’d saved and see if there were any left. With just the slightest of bounces in her step, Rixie exited her quarters.

After an indeterminate amount of time, Alex found that being trapped in the darkness of Rixie’s pocket, and being jostled every time she took a step, was starting to take a toll on him. He was pinned beneath two of the tokens, each one roughly the size and weight of a tire. One was covering his torso, the other trapped his right leg, which was becoming numb. He wasn’t sure how long he’d been in her pocket, but it seemed like she was determined to cover every square inch of the station. He’d given up screaming for help. Rixie was choosing to ignore him for the time being, and no one else seemed able to hear him. So, for now, he waited for this nightmare to end while he worked on a way to free himself from the coins’ oppressive weight.

Rixie, on the other hand, was enjoying her exercise. Deciding that she was a bit hungry, she made her way down to the officers’ mess in the hopes that the kitchen staff had decided to make something remotely edible for the late meal.

Waving to a few acquaintances she picked up a tray and joined the line. The fair was disappointingly average, but not entirely unexpected. She filled her tray and when she got to the end of the line, she pulled open her pocket to fish out one of her meal tokens.

Alex was momentarily blinded by the sudden shaft of white light that hit him in the face. When he could see again he saw Rixie’s giant fingers entering into his prison. Strangely hopeful that this ride was finally over, he reached out to try and grab on to the digits, but was ignored. All she did was remove the token pinning his foot. (A not inconsiderable blessing in its own right) When she gathered the coin into her grip; her hand withdrew, plunging him once again into darkness and leaving him feeling oddly hollow.

Rixie carried the tray with her meal over to where her friends, including Kir, were seated. After exchanging greetings with the other junior officers, she began to eat and listen to their conversation.

“So Turo, you were about to tell us why security’s issued a priority 3 docking restriction on bay twelve. At least, before you were so rudely interrupted by Rix here.” Rixie gave Kir a good natured shove while the rest of the group exchanged grins.

“Yeah. I was.” Turo’s golden eyes sparkled as she threw Rixie a wink. “Turns out the bay’s being emptied because we got ourselves a bit of a V.I.P. coming in sometime soon.”

“Oh yeah?” Kir cocked an eyebrow. “Who?”

Turo looked around to make sure no one could eavesdrop; she then leaned in conspiratorially, causing those around her to do likewise. In a low, barely audible voice she whispered: “Pryvani Tarsuss.”

Rixie snorted, leaning back again. “You mean the heiress? That rich girl whose father owns the quadrant’s largest mining corporation, and gave said daughter her own moon for her seventeenth birthday?”

“That’s the girl, yeah.”

“Sure. Why would she come here?”

Turo took a bite of her food. “I guess she’s absolutely crazy about Earth. That moon of hers? I heard she’s set the thing up as a preserve, or something, for the little things. She’s got hundreds of specimens. In fact, (and I don’t know if this is true,) but rumor has it she’s got an entire city of humans there too. Not a replica either, a whole human city pulled right out of the ground by her great, great, great… whatever… grandparents before contact with the planet was restricted to passive observation.”

“Uh huh. Sure she does.” Now it was Kir’s turn to be dismissive. “Still doesn’t explain why she’s coming here, though.”

Turo shrugged. “I don’t know for sure, but I heard she’s purchased some new specimens from the planet. Something rare that’s not normally taken off planet unless you know who to ask, if you get my meaning.” Rixie nodded with a roll of her eyes.

“Rich girl.” She sneered.

“I don’t know what it is, but I spotted some giant tanks of water, and I mean huge, so if I had to guess it’s some of those big sea mammals. The ones that are almost as big as us, you know?”

Kir and Rixie glanced at each other and shrugged. “I’m not as familiar with Earth zoology as you apparently are Turo.” Rixie said with a laugh.

Turo rolled her eyes. “Yeah well, whatever is going on, it’s been a nightmare as far as security goes. If anything should happen to the girl while she’s here… well, to say that she’s ‘politically connected’ would be an exercise in understatement … suffice to say it would be our heads. All of us.”

Rixie stood and gathered up her tray. “Well, I’m just as happy to leave that to you guys on the bayside. Kir and I will look after her if, and only if, she happens to step into our zone. Right Kir?”

“Got that right.”

Rixie bid goodbye to her comrades, disposed of her tray and meandered leisurely back to the walkways that led to the sections of the station that were more “civilian” oriented. She briefly considered returning to her own quarters, but decided that she wasn’t quite ready to return. Instead, she made her way to the nearest public terminal. She wanted to see if her duty roster for the following week had been shifted due to the unexpected training exercise. It didn’t seem to have been change, but there was an annotation at the end of the week from the Shift Commander. All it said was that she was to be placed on “special assignment” that day. That could mean any number of things… most of them fairly unpleasant.

The prospect of a “special assignment” at the end of the week killed any desire on her part to continue playing with the human in her pocket, so she began to slowly make her way back to her quarters, musing idly on whether to have mercy on the little creature still entombed in her pocket.

Arriving at her door she took out her security badge, once again ignoring Alex’s desperate attempts to gain her attention- which she took to be a good sign that he’d learned his place.
Stepping back into her room, she padded over to her work desk and began emptying her pockets one thing at a time until there was only Alex and the receipt from her meal left inside. She took both out of her pocket, deliberately entangling the paper slip around Alex; and ignoring the little man’s cries for help, casually dropped the bundle onto her desk.

After extricating himself from the entwining piece of paper he found himself wrapped in Alex began to rub the aches out of his limbs since he’d been forced into an extremely uncomfortable position for about an hour. “Please” He begged. “You’ve had your fun, can’t you let me go?”

Rixie smiled impishly. “I haven’t even begun to have my fun with you, Alex.” She folded her arms on the desk and laid her chin on top of them. “Things would go a lot smoother for you if you’d just do as I said though. And, before you ask, no I can’t return you to your home. It’s not a matter of ‘won’t’ it’s a matter of ‘can’t’. I don’t have the ability or the authority to do as you wish. I don’t have the inclination either, but that’s somewhat beside the point, my little pet.”

Alex folded his arms over his chest and glared defiantly up at his giant captor. “I am not a pet!”

With a weary sigh Rixie leaned back and opened the right hand drawer of her desk. She scooped Alex up of the desktop and plopped him back down inside the drawer. He gazed up at her looking down on him. “It’s unfortunate you feel that way. Perhaps you’ll feel better about it in the morning. Here…” Her head disappeared from view, when she returned, her hand lowered something else into the drawer and left it at Alex’s feet. It looked light a seaweed-green granola bar half the size of Alex’s head. “In case you get hungry. Don’t worry, it’s not poisonous. You’re not the first human I’ve taken care of.” And without another word, she slid the drawer shut and left Alex in the dark.
